Moving on
We understand that moving on can be scary. That’s why we liaise with parents, students, and our partner secondary schools, The Lakes School and QKS, Kendal to make the transition as smooth as possible.
Secondary Liaison and Joint Working
At St Cuthbert’s we’ve forged a strong bond with our partner secondary school and sixth form, The Lakes School. Based in Troutbeck Bridge, The Lakes School pride themselves on helping students “climb their own mountains”. We also work very closely with Queen Katherine School, Kendal.
Our teachers work in partnership with secondary school colleagues, both while St Cuthbert’s and during student visits.
Once Year 6 comes to an end, most of our pupils transfer to The Lakes School/ QKS for their secondary education. We offer a strong support service, liaising with The Lakes School to ensure your child’s transition into the next stage of their education runs as smoothly as possible.
Wider Links in the Community
We have a strong partnership with teacher training providers.
The curriculum is enriched through a variety of partnerships which include creative practitioners, the church of Our Lady of Windermere & St Herbert and Mater Amabilis Catholic churches and the wider community.
The school holds a number of events each year to support local, national and international charities. These help to raise our pupils’ awareness of the needs of others and develop them as future citizens. The Christmas Shoe Box Appeal and fund raising for Cafod are but a few examples.
