You played brilliantly in the Inter Schools tournament…

How great do the boys look in our new kits? Thanks again to Arnold Clark 🙏🏽

The children worked incredibly hard to learn and play this piece by Ian Gray, a jazz musician 🎶

In the middle of the piece the children wrote their own piece of improvisation in their group.

Look at all of their concentration faces!

What an amazing day KS2 have had in the forest with Ro from Woodmatters. 🌳

We have been very busy! We started with pond dipping and managed to find 3 newts 🦎 We then made little wooden hopping frogs using garlic leaves to dye the wood 🐸 We finished the day by working with a partner to create rope to make our own skipping ropes! 🪢

The stations of the cross

KS2 prayed 'The Stations of the Cross' yesterday in our beautiful church, when we reflected on Jesus’ journey to the Cross. ⛪️

It was such a powerful and emotive way to tell the story and the children were engaged and respectful throughout. They responded thoughtfully to questions and started to create some stunning pieces of artwork, which I can’t wait to share with you, once we’ve finished them.

Planetarium visit

Thanks to Lancaster University for bringing their amazing planetarium into school today. ⭐️ 🌝 🌏

Freya was so knowledgeable; her passion about the subject was infectious. She talked to us about all the different planets, the stars and constellations…

She also discussed star signs & asked the children to spot their own star signs. I wonder if they’ll remember where to look on a clear night?? 💫

It was a truly magical experience.

Cross country at Elleray

Amazing team work skills KS2!

We’ve learnt about forces by making kites. Lectio Divina

God is speaking…
…we are listening:

In RE recently, we have been using scripture to hear the word of God.

Last week we looked at the parable of The Good Samaritan (Luke 10. 25-37)

The children have written prayers about helping their neighbours and showing compassion just like the Good Samaritan did.

Well done Trailblazers, you’ve written some really thoughtful prayers.

God is speaking…
…we are listening:

In RE recently, we have been using Biblical imagery to hear the word of God.

Last week we looked at the parable of The Good Samaritan, through this painting by Francesco De Ponte Bassano.

The children discussed the messages they can see & the lessons we can learn from the Parable. For Example, being able to show compassion just like the Good Samaritan did.

Well done Detectives, beautiful work.
