Class Dojo

  • ClassDojo is a school communication platform that teachers, students, and families use every day to build close-knit communities by sharing what's being learned.

  • Every child and parent have their own log ins and can keep up to date with daily news bulletins and announcements.

When we have been delivering our lessons online, as well as daily zoom calls, Class Dojo has helped keep us connected with our families and pupils.

Children upload their work onto DOJOs for teachers to give feedback on.

We can give ‘team points’ using DOJOs and share children’s daily successes with home.

What our parents think of DOJO’S:

“Class DOJO’s really helps keep us connected with what is happening at school. We get regular reminders about events and trips and best of all we get to share our children’s day to day schooling... It really cheers me up that when I am at work, I get a notification with a picture of what my child is up to in school that day, thank you team Cuthbert’s…'“

See what we have been up to as a whole school…

(Our class pages give you a better insight into what goes on day to day…)

We are very proud of the below:

STAYING SAFE:

November: Massive thanks to PCSO Sarah Blacow for coming into school to remind us all about how to keep safe on bonfire night. The children also enjoyed helping one another with firework arts and crafts… well done children.

BELOW:

Safety first. We complete regular lockdown and fire drills. Our children are always so calm and sensible during this important time:

We love inviting lots of exciting and new organisations into school.

The Westmorland County have recently visited us to kick start a literacy project with KS1…

FOREST SCHOOL SESSIONS ARE THE BEST:

We enjoy regular forest school sessions with Woodmatters. We visit St Catherines Wood, which is a National Trust property for our regular sessions.

THE VOTES ARE IN:

We always make our learning as interactive and hands on as possible:

County show 2023

Walter the Wolf invited his Referee friends into school to film some of his stories:

We love to read:

‘Help one another, this is what we do with all our hearts’ ❤️

The children love reading to one another, sharing their books and helping each other with any tricky words. 📙📘📗

We do buddy reading weekly & it is an absolute joy to watch…

Thank you for helping each other children.

We regularly visit our local church:

Well done to our Mini Police:

Jeans for Genes Day

We had a lovely morning wearing our denim supporting ‘Jeans for genes day’ yesterday.

The children learnt all about genes & how we are different. They also designed their own pair of jeans, joined in with a special yoga session and dreamt up their dream dog by mixing their genes…

Thanks for your support.

Autumn 2022

See some snap shots of what we have been up to during the Autumn term.

We’ve been very busy:

In December 2022:

we welcomed local MP Tim Farron into school. He was very keen to come to the ‘best school in Cumbria’ and to meet the children, who were only too pleased to tell him all about our amazing school.

Here is what he said:

December 2022.

The Explorers (EYFS and KS1) and the Detective (Year 3/4) and the Trailblazers (Year 5/6) were simply fantastic during their Christmas productions of the Little Nativity and the Little Match Girl.

Well done children. We are very proud of you.

As per our mission statement, we love helping others. How amazing is this amount raised from our small school??

Thank you for helping us raise £175.66 for St. John’s hospice.

As well as the reindeer dash, we also collected some money Carol singing in Windermere.

Annabelle came into school today & she spoke to the children about the amazing impact their money will have on local patients and their families. The children showed lots of interest and empathy and are keen to help raise more money!

Well done everyone and thank you. 🙏🏽

Annabelle told us about the Kendal colour dash. The link is below, if you want to get involved:

What an amazingly inspiring afternoon we have had today.

All of our children, from Nursery - Year 6 had a go at playing wheelchair basketball

World champion wheelchair basketball player Nat Pattinson came to school today, armed with a set of wheelchairs…

Nat did an incredible job in raising the children’s awareness of disability in sport and all the children (& staff!) had a fantastic time learning to play wheelchair basketball, whilst developing skills of perseverance and collaboration as they played.

Nat is a sporting legend & has represented his country in world championships, has won countless medals and been able to travel the world with his sport.

What an incredible afternoon and what an honour to welcome Nat to St. Cuthbert’s

“The climate is a common good, belonging to all and meant for all” 🌏 ❤️
(Pope Francis, Laudato Si 1:23)

Every Wednesday our wonderful Key stage Two children plan and lead a class worship. 🙏🏽

It’s always a pleasure to be part of & observe our young leaders proudly deliver our class worships with such confidence and grace.

The children this week planned a worship all about climate change, COP 26 & how we need to nurture & look after Gods planet. 🌏

Well done children- what a great start to 2022.

Introducing our Mini Police. 👏

They will start their new role in January.

Mini police was open to children in years 4, 5 & 6. Any children who wanted to be part of it but were unsuccessful this time will have lots of opportunities to be part of projects within school, working within the community.

Well done to all the children.

Any questions please see Miss Elder or Mrs Bone
